Statistician/data Analyst

KDS seeks a qualified Statistician/Data Analyst to support our development-sector programming.  Candidates are sought with qualifications and experience in the following areas: statistical analysis, information system design and management, training and field monitoring and evaluation. The period of performance for this position is 6 months starting early April 2014. Statistician/Data Analyst candidates must have strong math and analytical skills and significant experience and success in areas such as empirical research and statistical analysis. Successful applicants will perform data analysis in support of KDS field research, evaluation and survey work and interact closely with program management and monitoring and evaluation staff, and will produce detailed, well-presented reports, including written analysis of the key findings. This position will be based in Beirut, with possible travel in Lebanon. Responsibilities: Participate in KDS enumerator training; Review survey forms and clarify any ambiguities with the enumerator(s); Ensure that database is current, accurate and complete; Develop required statistical tools and run statistical analysis, as may be requested by the Team Leader; Produce graphics and written narratives, as requested by the Team Leader; Coordinate enumeration activities to ensure statistical significance of findings; and Collect data and other information, as may be requested by the Team Leader. Qualifications: BA degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or related field. Minimum of 1 to 3 years in data/statistical analysis and reporting. Minimum of 1 to 3 years of international development or humanitarian response. Experience with STATA or SPSS statistical analysis software. Extensive experience with surveys and analysis of survey results. Field experience in Lebanon (strongly preferred). Detail oriented and organized. Good problem solving skills. High level of proficiency in MS Office applications and databases. Reporting: The Statistician/Data Analyst will report to KDS’ designated Team Leader for this project.
