Who are we
In November 2012 the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and United Nations Department of Safety & Security (UN-DSS) founded the the Safety and Security Committee for Lebanon (SSCL) – nee Lebanon INGO Safety and Security Forum (LISSF). SSCL is an independent and neutral oragnisationbased on the 2006 framework of “Saving Lives Together” and on best practice in risk management, funded by the member contributions and European Commission Humanitarian Organization (ECHO). Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is the grand holder of SSCL.
SSCL is comprised of an inclusive membership of close to 50 members (INGO’s, IO’s, local NGO’s and UN agencies) and represents a wide platform for information sharing, coordination, training and best practice in risk management. Its aim is to enhance safety and security by fostering awareness and dialogue, analysis and improved risk management amongst members, strategic partners and the Lebanese community. It works towards building predictive, innovative and enabling products for members.
About the job
The Associate Analyst is responsible for information collection, collation, management and analysis, including production of a range of SSCL analytical products, such as mapping, presentations, podcasts and other new media formats. He will also be assisting in the management of the national SSCL office. This includes oversight of national logistics and administration. The Associate Analyst might frequently travel to the three regional offices (Akkar & North, Beqaa and South).
The Associate Analyst position is a part- time job with part-time working hours up to 20 hours per week.
Duties
Coordinate the collection of information;
collate incident reporting from, and advice to, SSCL members;
Responsible as the point of contact for SSCL information management, database and product development;
Produce intellectually rigorous and best-practice analytical product in support of SSCL;
Develop and Conduct database management;
Produce complex and predictive systems of indicator and warnings relevant to Lebanon’s environment;
About you
To be successful in this role you must have a university degree preferably related to Political Sciences, Public Administration or any relevant field, Fluency in English language written and spoken and a minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
Ideally you will also have experience with NGO in Protection field.
We offer
An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. SSCL will offer the successful applicant a monthly contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from April1 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the grand holder, Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at a level, equivalent to $500 USD per month.
