We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to assist us in providing technical and planning support to future initiatives to increase the in-country logistics capacity Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job The Fleet/Asset Assistant is responsible to the Logistics & Procurement Officer for supporting improvements in fleet management, assets, and communications in coordination with the Logistics & Procurement Officer. This requires a highly motivated and detail solution oriented individual who will be able to resolve operational critical challenges as they arise   Duties Oversee the compilation of the daily and weekly vehicle movement schedule and recording and assigning of all mechanical transport as required. Ensure the provision of a daily movement schedule by the close of business the previous day.  This includes the scheduling of on-call night and weekend drivers if necessary. Assist the Logistics & Procurement Officer to assess all drivers’ skills and conduct driver training. This includes making recommendations to terminate drivers if necessary. Ensure that all vehicles have log books, and that all drivers or staff with driving privileges are filling them every journey. Any car without log book or sheet is not to be used. Perform all tasks related to asset management and check that all assets and inventory old and new are properly recorded and tagged in line with DRC policies and procedures. Keep the asset register, asset cards and personal issue forms up to date with information of where each asset is/who it has been issued to. Send an updated asset register to the Area Logistics Manager on a monthly basis. Perform a monthly asset check, report if any assets/inventory are broken, lost or stolen on the Inventory Loss/Theft/Damage report, to be countersigned by the Area Logistics Manager.   About you To be successful in this role you must have experience in vehicle and fleet management, fluency in English written and spoken. Ideally you will also have experience with auto mechanics or electrical installations and experience in standard asset management procedures and documentation. You must be available to start work from 24 th March and be willing and able to work in Tripoli- Lebanon. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to a basic salary of USD 1180 per month.
