Direct Assistance Assistant - Baalbek

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Direct Assistance Assistant for the DRC Field Office in North Bekaa. Who are we? DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. Duties -Distribution and vouchers: Attend all distribution activities Search for displaced Syrians’ data in Progress database Modify or add data to beneficiaries profile Register assisted beneficiaries in distribution list Conduct ad hoc surveys Deal with complaints or issue related to distribution/voucher through distribution hotline Assess potential locations for distributions respecting DRC guidelines Monitor and evaluate on going distribution and voucher activities and report on unmet needs and gaps        Organise the daily / weekly / monthly work plan, in coordination with the Area coordinator        Collect vouchers from shops        Participate in assessments, selection and training to shop owners        Manage conflicts when they arise and always find solutions      -Protection: Conduct bilateral interviews and/or focus group discussion with vulnerable displaced households in order to identify specific and refer cases with specific needs Ensure beneficiaries are respected and cared for during distribution activities Prioritize vulnerable cases during distribution and provide needed support Refer protection cases when identified to the protection team -Monitoring: Conduct post distribution monitoring in shops participating to voucher project Conduct door to door interviews and/or focus group discussion with families benefiting of vouchers Monitor and evaluate ongoing distribution and voucher activities and report on unmet needs and gaps   About you – Essential skills/experience Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to work under pressure Flexibility in terms of working hours and working locations Social work experience (advantage) Ability to type in Arabic and English Fluent in Arabic and good English We offer An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 15th of March 2014 and be willing and able to work in North Bekaa (Baalbek).
