Education Outreach Assistant

Job Purpose Summary Support the delivery of education activities in the Awadeh Community Center and during outreach activities in the Akkar Region. Key Responsibilities As the Syrian crisis continues and growing numbers of Syrian children and youth seek refuge in Lebanon there is increasingly the need to address the issues of missed education and support children and youth to access education at their appropriate grade levels.  The NRC education response strategy consists of four pillars; a) Comprehensive education needs assessments; b) Standardization of the education response in line with the INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies; c) Support integration of children and youth in schools d) Provision of Non-Formal Education: accelerated learning programme (ALP), psychosocial and recreational activities and life skills for both children and youth.  The outreach assistant will: Deliver education activities Collect, archive and update data Regularly monitor the educational activities conducted by NRC Report on a weekly basis to the Education Officer Perform any other task assigned by NRC  management  Qualifications and Competences Academic and Professional Qualifications Relevant studies in education, social work and/or any other relevant field Relevant Experience Relevant experience in social and community engagement activities. Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes Good communication and inter-personal skills Fluent in English Computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, Power Point and Access Experience as a social worker or as a teacher Understanding of the education system in Lebanon Achievement indicators Deliver tasks in a structured and professional manner Meet deadlines Apply NRC standards, policies and guidelines Adapting and coping to change Communication with impact and respect
