Community Mobilizer (Zahle)

ROLE PURPOSE: Save the Children Lebanon is implementing a large and varied Shelter and NFI program to meet the needs described above. The role is required in order to ensure community engagement with the Shelter and NFI programming at field-level. The Community Mobiliser will be responsible for assessing social vulnerabilities and communication with beneficiaries and communities. The Community Mobiliser will work in parallel with a Shelter Technician and will spend 80% of their time in the field. It is anticipated that this role will be needed for a minimum of 5 months. There is a strong likelihood that it will be extended depending on performance and pipeline funding. The contract length is dependent upon funding     KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   The Community Mobilizer will:   Conduct beneficiary household vulnerability assessments; Provide beneficiary households with information about the Shelter Program and other SC Lebanon activities Make referrals to other programs and agencies Lead Community Mobilisation activities Refer to the Shelter Officer any protection concerns identified in the field. Conduct regular visits to beneficiaries Attend and support distributions Conduct Post Distribution Monitoring Provide daily/weekly reports, as requested. Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.     QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE   Experience   Minimum 1 years of work experience Experience in working with at-risk children and families   Skills   Minimum diploma OR bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Teaching or similar Familiar with Humanitarian principles Experience in community mobilisation and conducting outreach activities Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms Proficiency on Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, including management of Excel databases Good time management and organizational skills Fluency in written and spoken Arabic (English language skills advantageous) Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and teamwork Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment  Valid Lebanese driving licence Familiarity with the relevant geographic areas
