Psychosocial Worker

Description of tasks Conduct socio-economic assessment of refugees asking for a financial support; To facilitate the access to GlobMed /UNHCR for Syrian patients to try to get approval for the coverage of the health costs Conduct assessments through surveys in the communities To  develop an adequate tool to assess the socio-economic situation of a Syrian individual or family; To develop and maintain a network of local actors involved in secondary health care in collaboration with the medical consultant. To provide home visits when required Maintain good contact with other actors and local authorities Report, analyse, and evaluate the activities realised. Monitor changes in the context and needs of the affected populations and provide updates to the hierarchy.   General Responsibilities  Support the other activities of MSF in the region. Develop and strengthen a network of local contacts Contribute to an ongoing evaluation of the humanitarian situation   General obligations  Is informed of the overall objectives of the MSF movement and its activities in the region. Understands the principles of MSF action. Respects and adheres to the internal regulations of the organisation. Carries out other tasks that are not covered in the job description, in order to assist the needs of the other departments (health, communications, logistics, wash, NFI).  Additional tasks  On request perform any other additional duties given by the immediate supervisor in order to allow the organisation to function optimal

In psychology, psychotherapy, social work, or nursing
• Professional experience of working with individuals, groups, and families.
• Experience of working with children in a professional capacity
• Previous experience of working with war and/or displacement affected people.
• Strong IT skills (word, excel, internet, power point),
• Ability to synthesise data, monitor and evaluate interventions, and strong report writing skills.
• Strong commitment to ensuring confidentiality, loyalty, discretion and honesty.
• Experience of working in multi disciplinary teams and good team work
• Able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently, and under conditions of stress.
• Strong belief in the principles of humanitarian action.
• Good listening, empathy and communication skills
• Able to prioritise the demands of the organisation and not to have other engagements that may be incompatible with the work of an neutral and impartial humanitarian organisation, specialising in emergency response.
