  English-Arabic Interpreter Employer: International Catholic Migration Commission Deadline for applications: Tuesday, Feb 25, 2014 Location: Beirut Working area: Refugees Field Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION Resettlement Support Center Turkey & Middle East an international non-governmental organization which serves as a regional office for the US Refugee Resettlement and Cultural Orientation Program in the Middle East region. RSC ICMC Beirut conducts US Resettlement Operations in Lebanon. RSC Turkey & Middle East (RSC TUME) operates in a dynamic work environment and job descriptions/duties may change as operational needs decrease or increase RSC/ICMC Beirut is recruiting an English-Arabic Interpreter to be employed on a casual hire basis. Interpreters are deployed to work during two-three week missions once a quarter. DUTIES and RESPONSOBILITIES: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and implement policies in accordance with US Department of State/Bureau of Population, Refugees & Migration (DOS/PRM) guidelines for United States Refugee Admission Program (USRAP) Provide clear, complete and accurate verbal interpretation to facilitate communication between United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) officer and refugee clients Provide accurate translations of written correspondence and other documents pertaining to refugees Undertake other duties as required and assigned by the RSC Out-processing Senior Case Processor such as assisting with office set-up and take-down, escorting refugees in the building, etc. EDUCATION Post Secondary Degree or equivalent experience QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES Strong command of  English and Arabic, both written and verbal Knowledge of additional languages is an asset Excellent writing, communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Respect for diversity Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively under stress within a multicultural team environment Previous work experience with Middle Eastern refugee populations is highly desirable TO APPLY Interested candidates are requested to submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae and cover letter detailing relevant experience to, rima.jurdy@icmcturkey.org
