Hygiene Promoter (15 Positions)

The Hygiene Promoter will be responsible for the implementation of HP activities in 2 schools and for the transmission of key Hygiene messages to the school staff and to the students and their community.  The Hygiene Promoter will be under the direct supervision of the Education Program Manager and the Hygiene Promotion Team Leader.  The tasks will include but not be limited to: Coordinates with the Education Field Officer (EFO) responsible for the schools on the schedule of the Hygiene Promotion sessions to be inserted as part of the curriculum being implemented (Accelerated Learning Program – ALP). Performs roll out trainings for school staff to increase awareness on Hygiene Promotion principles. Works with the school teachers to incorporate Hygiene Promotion principles into the education curriculum. Conducts pre and post training evaluation tests for the school teachers to assess their knowledge on the topics that needs to be covered in coordination with the HP Team Leader. Implements HP activities at the school level with the different classes. Establishes a Hygiene Club inside each school while ensuring the active and effective participation of the students. Ensure sustainable Hygiene Promotion procedures are set in place. Uses Hygiene Promotion awareness posters and brochures to raise awareness on personal and environmental hygiene in the school and makes sure these are put in visible places for students to see. Uses Hygiene Promotion awareness brochures to raise awareness on healthy habits and personal hygiene at the community level. Suggests and implements creative ideas and techniques to promote for Hygiene awareness within the schools and the community. Trains the school cleaners on enhanced cleaning practices and techniques and makes sure these are enforced as part of their daily tasks. Provides progress reports to the HP Team Leader on a weekly basis. Takes samples of the schools drinking water supply to for testing in coordination with the HP Team Leader. Directly reports any security / field / office Incidents to the Education PM. Abides by Relief International Sexual Exploitation & Abuse Policy, and the Drug Free Work Place Statement, and the Child Protection Policy. Performs other work-related duties as discussed and agreed upon with the Education Program Manager and the Hygiene Promotion Team Leader. Position requirements: Experience in working with children and child-friendly approaches. Dynamic and highly motivated. Creative thinking with a child-oriented approach. Understands refugee contexts and is compassionate while working with refugees. Native Arabic speaker with fluency in English. Comfortable in conducting trainings. Good reporting skills. Previous experience in Hygiene Promotion is preferred but not mandatory. Previous experience in working with NGOs is preferred but not mandatory. Computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
