Social Worker

Acciton Contre el Hambre – Spain, is looking for an enthusiastic and high motivated full time social worker to collaborate in the implementation of nutrition and mental health project in the Bekaa area, working with Syrian mothers and children living in the ITS.   Assignment: The hired person will work directly with mother and children, and pregnant women, target of the intervention. The social worker will work in close relationship with the Nutrition and Mental Health team to identify, follow up and refer the vulnerable cases. She/he also will participate to the implementation of the breastfeeding practices and child care practices, moreover she/he will support the development of the psycho-social activities.   Minimum skills required Able to deliver information according to the capacity and the educational level of the people, able to develop family visit, good skills in listening and reporting. Ability to give advice and support family in needs according to ACF guideline and policy.   General skills required: Sense of confidentiality; skilled activity leader; willing to attend to trainings and workshops.  Adaptation capacity and flexibility in an unpredictable context. Empathetic and patient, good team spirit and ability to work in a team or independently according to the situation. Good knowledge of the area and local customs is strongly requested.   Other Able to work and travel in all area of Lebanon without exclusion. Due to the specific context and the sensitiveness of the topics, females are especially encouraged to apply.   Main tasks: -          Identify target group: mother-children and pregnant women, for the Nutrition and Mental Health activities developed in the ACF community space (Safe Haven). -          Follow-up and family visiting of special cases according to the team assessment. -          Work in close collaboration with nutritionist to organize screening and growth monitoring for children who frequent the Safe Haven for mother-children and pregnant women. -          Participate to the development of the community activities for mother-children and pregnant women in the Save Haven. -          Reporting and coordination.   Due to the emergency context, the social workers can be requested to participate to any other nutrition, mental health and care practices activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs and the humanitarian situation
