Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:   ROLE PURPOSE: The objective of this position is to ensure that the field Finance & award department can deliver the required level of reporting to donors, senior management, budget holders and the awards management team within the country programme. The role will work closely with all departments to ensure that grant reporting, topline reporting and any ad hoc reporting requirements are met within a timely manner and provide the required level of detail.   Reports to: Finance & Grant Manager   KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Assist the Finance & grant Manager in the effective tracking of local income and collating timely and accurate financial reporting to donors. Review and analyse monthly budget monitoring reports highlighting issues on over/under spends.  Provide timely management information to budget holder/project managers and make sure that they are receiving the necessary information from Agresso output regularly or as they require. Ensure that grant costs are effectively and accurately captured within the financial system.  In coordination with the AMU and finance departments in Beirut, support the preparation of financial statements for specific donor grant reporting and audit requirements in accordance with donor reporting timescales. Produce a monthly analysis report for programme managers highlighting all major financial issues and ensure that remedial actions are agreed upon. Develop and maintain historical trend analyses regarding programmatic and operational costing’s per office.  Work with the proposal writing team to ensure that all donor budgets are mapped in both SCI format and donor format and are accurately phased. Work with stakeholders on budget realignments, revisions and rephrasing where required. Liaise with and support budget holders in putting phased budgets in Agresso working with other finance staff ensure budgets posting is timely. Support budget holders in the preparation of budgets and associated narrative for all new donor proposals Checks that reversals/recharges/recordings requested by budget holders are completed by the Finance Team immediately Ensure that grant closure is being dealt with correctly and that no charges are made to closed grants.   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Commerce or Business Studies degree or equivalent certification and experience. Recommended a minimum of 3 years experience in a in budget setting and grants management in INGOs Familiar with donor major donor reporting including ECHO,DFID,UNHCR Strong working computer skills especially in accounting packages Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies Fluency in English & Arabic, both verbal and written, preferred Commitment to Save the Children values   APPLICATION PROCESS  Please note that the closing date for applications is : For External applicants on 08 of April 2014.                          The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
