Internship - Detention (Legal Unit) - Int001

Duties Under the guidance of the Protection Associate and the overall supervision of the Protection Officer, the Intern will perform the following tasks:  Assist the teams in the Legal and Detention Units in providing basic counselling to asylum-seekers and refugees on detention and legal issues.  Information gathering on detained refugees and asylum-seekers and follow up on individual cases.  Provide updates on court cases of refugees and asylum-seekers to different units in the office.  Keep track of the status of detained refugees and asylum-seekers by regularly updating databases and templates.  Data entry of legal services provided.  Undertake legal research as required.  Provide input to protection reports and other reports as required.  Undertake other duties as required by the Supervisor
