Data Case Worker

BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in Emergency and humanitarian programming existing since 1933 and working in more than 40 countries. In response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the IRC started a Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program and a Livelihoods program in 2012 with program strategies implemented in various locations in the Northern and Beka’a Governorates. IRC is now complementing its response with a Child Protection (CP) program.   SCOPE OF WORK: The CP Data Case Worker is part of the Case Management team and responsible of the overall work around the database.  He is responsible to ensure that all cases are entered in a timely manner, inform the case worker in case of gaps or need of correction in the form, on a weekly basis inform the CM team of the next cases to follow up. Although the work of the CM database worker is mainly around the data base he also plays a key role in the case management team and need to have a strong comprehension and participation in the case management programs.     SCOPE OF WORK The Child Protection data officer works directly under the Child Protection Deputy Manager. He/she is responsible of the overall data management.   SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The CP data case worker is specifically responsible for the following tasks:   Ensure that all data is entered correctly and in time (IMS, foster parents, etc); provide feedback to case workers/officers if there are gaps or incoherent information – according to the SOP Ensure that different databases are up to date (new entry and updates) and complete; all incoherent information must be corrected within a week – according to the SOP Provide on the day of the case meeting up to date cases follow up plan Ensure the follow up of global referral cases Ensure that all data manipulation and sharing are done following the confidentiality principle and information sharing procedure (computer, soft files password protected, hard files locked and only shared on a need to know basis etc.) Participate in the weekly case conference and others when needed Produce weekly reports on the different relevant statistic and produce reports   REQUIREMENTS High school diploma minimum, university degree preferable Experience as a data base entry clerk minimum, as a data officer a plus High competencies in working with excel mandatory and other data software a plus Minimum of  5 years professional experience Working experience in NGO a plus Interest in Child Protection, social work and general humanitarian field mandatory Experience in working children and social sector a plus Experience in working in emergency a plus Fluency in Arabic and English written  and speaking Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of confidentiality and ethics Additional qualities: fast learner, ability to work under pressure and long working hours, flexibility, methodic and meticulous Good communication skills   Travel and other requirements: Staff will be based in Beka’a Governorates, with some travel required between the governorates and the main IRC office in Beirut.
