Vacancy Announcement Risk education coordinator Handicap International Humanitarian Demining Programme North Lebanon Location: North Lebanon province, Batroun District   Handicap International (HI) is an international solidarity organization headquartered in France (Lyon) taking specific actions in the field of disability, health and humanitarian demining in over 60 countries around the world. It is non-governmental, non-denominational, apolitical and non-profit organization. The Mine Action Programme of Handicap International in Lebanon priority is improving the lives of people affected by mines and explosive remnants of war, and the creation of favorable conditions for socio-economic development. This by reducing the threat posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war in affected communities in northern Lebanon, according to the needs and priorities identified by the Lebanese Mine Action Center (LMAC).   Description of the post Handicap International is seeking one  Risk Education Coordinator in charge to implement and monitor activities  in Batroun District, North Lebanon Province The Risk education coordinator duties and responsibilities within HI mine action programme in North Lebanon Province are: Responsibility : Under the direct supervision of the Head of Mission, the Risk Education Coordinator is responsible to: Ensure that all Risk Education (RE) activities conducted by HI and its National Partner are implemented to a high standard, in line with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and with donors requirements. Ensure that HI and the National Mine Action Authorities procedures and rules are respected in the frame of the RE project. Participate actively in Risk Education Steering Committee meetings and all RE events organized by partners and/or donors. Develop Monitoring and Evaluation tools and closely monitor the activities conducted in the frame of the Risk Education project. Develop monthly action plans for Risk Education Activities in coordination with HI National Partner for the project and the National Mine Action Authorities. Ensure the production of Risk Education Tools in coordination with HI National Partner, the National Mine Action Authorities, and Risk Education Steering Committee. Coordinate public awareness campaign in the District of Batroun in coordination with HI National Partner, the National Mine Action Authorities, and Risk Education Steering Committee. Ensure the liaison between HI National Partner and HI support services in teh frame of the RE project. Ensure that the RE activity reports are written in line with donors deadlines, formats and requirements. Supervise the financial aspects of the RE project and report accordingly to HI finance department. Coordinate the post impact evaluation of the activities implemented in the frame of the RE project. Ensure the documentation of the project.     Mandatory: University degree in social, education or development areas; ·         Minimum 2 years professional experience with NGO as head of project or project coordinator ·         Strong writing skills in arabic and english French is a plus. ·         Financial management skills ·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills ·         Strong diplomatic skills ·         Able to work both independently and in a multicultural environment ·         Capable of taking responsibility in the related field ·         Computer skills (word-excel-outlook)   Language skills: ·   Arabic + English (Good written and spoken) ·   French would also be an advantage   Conditions of employment: ·   Wage of salary 1500 $ - 1620 $ based on HI salary scale ·   Package of advantages according to HI Specific Terms and Conditions of Engagement (e.g. social security, etc) ·   Duration:8 months upon financial contract confirmation and funds availability.   This position is strictly open to Lebanese National   The person will be recruited upon receiving security clearance and accreditation from the Lebanon Mine Action Center.   CONTACT: interested candidates may send their resume with a cover letter, photo passport and copy of ID, with the reference “Risk education Coordinator ” by email to hr.hidam.lb@gmail.com  before 01/03/2014.
