Trainer On Animation Of Excursions & Guiding

                                Terms of Reference Trainer on animation of excursions & guiding   In the framework of the project “Cooperation and dialogue for peace with municipalities and Lebanese and Syrian youth in Akkar“, funded by the French Embassy, Mada Association is seeking a trainer on animation of excursions and guiding, who will facilitate a 16 day series of sessions in 2 villages. The objectives of these sessions being: -      Consolidation and unification of the groups, -      Acquisition of knowledge about their local, natural environment and responsible tourism through collective activities, -       Undertaking walks in nature, meant to allow the youth to better know each other while acquiring skills on nature walking, such as guiding, -      Acquisition of trail blazing and clearance skills. Main work interfaces ü  Internal interfaces -      Project Coordinator -      Field Officer -      Administrator ü  External interfaces -      Municipalities members and local NGOs -      Project Steering committee -      Syrian and Lebanese Youth Main responsibilities   1)    Sessions’ Content   - Presenting the objective of the activity with emphasis on its importance, - Mobilization and awareness on nature topics, environmental conservation, natural heritage, and responsible tourism, - Team building activities, - Delineation of the touristic trails, - Provide knowledge and technical assistance for trail blazing and clearance, - Take GPS reading for two trails, one in Fneideq and one in Akkar Atika, - Take pictures and videos of each nature trip.   2)    Expected Results -      Lebanese and Syrian youth become familiar with their local, natural environments, -      Positive, productive interactions between Lebanese and Syrian youth, -      Acquisition of nature walking skills, -      Acquisition of trail blazing and clearance skills, -      Acquisition of basic skills in nature guiding.     Evaluation of Workshop and Reporting   Evaluation -  Design an evaluation form to receive feedback from participants and on a more general level, determine the effectiveness of this activity -  Read the workshop evaluation forms and provide short summary analysis on results/improvements attained by the workshop Reporting -  Compile all of the above in a short activity report, including: -      The workshop program / agenda -      Photos and videos of the activity Education and knowledge required -  Bachelor Degree in tourism or a related field -  Knowledge and experience of touristic activities -  Experience in interactive and participatory training techniques -  Computer skills: Office Package -  Languages: Arabic, French Skills required -  Excellent social and interpersonal skills -  Experience in awareness raising and in motivating deprived communities -  Good knowledge of the area and its local habits -  Excellent written and verbal communication skills -  Involvement and commitment -  Diplomatic skills: representing Mada’s non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian principles and respect for diversity and gender Geographical Location 2 villages in AKKAR: Fneideq and Akkar Atika Mission duration February, March, April 2014
