Consultant For Clinical Supervision - Child Protection Program

Purpose of the Consultancy The purpose of this consultancy is to provide clinical supervision to case management staff and psychosocial staff, which is a part of ethical requirements for all professional counsellors and social workers but also an essential element of self care for caregivers who work directly with individuals who have undergone stressful and traumatic experiences. Clinical supervision aims  to help case management staff and psychosocial staff  mitigate extreme levels of stress and prevent burn-out and vicarious traumatisation  by engaging them in a process that allows them to explore and elaborate emotions ,worries, fears and anxieties in a constructive manner. Clinical supervision is required to assist Child Protection staff to effectively and positively deal with the demands placed on them and to respond to their own well being and that of their clients. Effective clinical supervision and psychosocial support will also increase staff’s productivity at work, maintaining professionalism and the quality of services offered to children and their families.   Key tasks: To listen to CP team and allow them to express and process emotions, challenges, worries and frustrations arising from their work To impart skills and knowledge on self care and to empower the Child Protection team to deal with stress inherent their daily work and explore personal resources and ways in which staff can enhance their personal care and development; To give feedback to the CP coordinator accordingly on issues that may require her intervention, guidance or support.  These might include sharing needs for additional capacity building of staff or identifying contextual issues or challenges that need to be addressed at a systematic level. Proposed Outputs: Group supervision sessions for CP staff  in Bekaa, North, Mt Lebanon and Beirut Individual counselling sessions in the field of Bekaa, North, Mt Lebanon and Beirut  Be available on call/skype if any urgent matters arise that a staff would like to share regarding his or her personal well being Debrief to Coordinator  on overall status of the team Bi -monthly progress reports to the CP Coordinator to highlight needs and gaps;  2.       Management The Consultant will work in coordination with the CP Managers and CP Coordinator 3.       Timeframe 4 days per month from mid February to end of October 2014 (4 days x 9 months = 36 days consultancy support)  Requirements Experience working in Child Protection programs; Experience in working in an NGO preferable Experience in the Emergencies and/or a refugee-setting, preferred; Fluent in Arabic, knowledge of English highly desirable.
