Intern At Pace Learning Centre

The PACE (Promoting Active Citizen Engagement) Learning Center (PLC) is an NGO capacity-building program for 25 Lebanese CSOs designed to improve an organization's capacity to handle internal and external functions and relationships. This assistance will improve effective leadership style, decision-making processes, professional development, communications, and financial management. The project will also help targeted CSOs formulate and implement Institutional Improvement Plans (IIP) and advocacy plans as part of their strategic planning/yearly action plans. The capacity-building project will be designed for maximum flexibility in responding to the needs of CSOs with varying capacity levels.  PLC is supported from the Promoting Active Citizen Engagement (PACE) program and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project will be implemented during the period of September 2013 –July 2014. The Intern will work at the PLC Project Office at Soins lnfirmiers et Développement Communautaire (SIDC).   POSITION DESCRIPTION The PACE Learning Centre is offering a part time position for students who are interested in interning, or skilled individuals interested in volunteering. This internship will provide exposure to a wide variety of nongovernmental and civil society organizations, as well as ample experience in the field for those who are interested in NGO-related careers.  The civil society organizations are not restricted to a certain category, and the intern will accumulate a varied set of skills resulting from attending the capacity building activities and the interactive trainings that PACE Learning Centre will be delivering.   PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project team and coordinate the implementation of activities in the field; Assist the Help Desk Officer in providing support to the CSOs and/or coordinate between CSOs and trainers/consultants; Assist in organizing and arranging training sessions to CSOs and provide logistical support to the HDO; Collect progress data from CSOs; Assist the webmaster in posting live updates of activities on social media and provide content to build the team’s monthly newsletter; and Provide support to all the team members per arising need and requirements.
