Response Officer - Women Protection And Empowerment

SCOPE OF WORK: The WPE Response Officer will oversee case management and support services provided to GBV survivors. The WPE Response Officer will train and supervise Case Workers to respond to cases of GBV and ensure effective case management within Women and Girls Community Centers and mobile teams.      Position objectives:    Improved psychosocial service provision for survivors of gender-based violence   Who this position reports to: WPE Program Manager   Who this position supervises: Directly line manages up to six caseworkers   RESPONSIBILITIES:    Oversight of psychosocial support services to victims and survivors of gender-based violence   • Monitor and support the delivery of age-appropriate and specialized group services and activities for vulnerable women and girls, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of survivors of GBV, in WCGGs and in other safe community spaces.  These services include emotional support sessions facilitated by case workers.   • Oversee provision of direct support and care for vulnerable women and girls (including survivors of gender-based violence), including counseling and basic case management.  Case management services will include:     o Assessment of needs     o Safety assessment      o Developing and supporting an agreed upon action plan     o Appropriate referrals and follow-up     o Case closure (if and when appropriate)   • Supervise and provide on-the-job coaching with WPE caseworkers (based in the WGCC and in mobile teams) to ensure quality psychosocial support and case management services are provided to survivors of GBV.    • Conduct regular case review meetings with caseworkers   • Provide technical support to caseworkers in utilizing case management and data collection tools, including action plans, safety plans, intake forms and GBVIMS tools   • Review and compile the data of the GBVIMS incident recorder and submit it monthly to the Project Manager.   • Promote self-care amongst WPE caseworkers by organizing self-care activities and promoting a healthy work-life balance.     Grant Monitoring & Reporting  • Work with the Protection Officer and the Project Manager to develop monthly and weekly planning incorporating case workers feedback.    • In collaboration with the Protection Officer and Adolescent Girls Officer submit weekly and monthly reports to the WPE Program Manager   • Oversee and provide support to caseworkers in the use of the GBV Information Management System    • Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is completed accurately as required by IRC finance policy.   Coordination & Representation • Work with service providers to implement standard operating procedures and monitor adherence to referral pathway and referral protocols to ensure safe and confidential access to all GBV response services   • Act as focal point for referrals of cases from other organizations and follow up cases referred to partner organizations or other IRC sectors   • Represent the IRC at regional  and local GBV Working Groups and other meetings as required   • Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other IRC sector staff.    Training • Provide regular training and on-the-job coaching to caseworkers and other WPE staff on case management, emotional support groups, GBV guiding principles and referral pathways, and other topics as needed   • Facilitate response-related trainings for other relevant sectors, partner organizations and community members.   Other  • Ensure activities are done in accordance with IRC’s administrative policies and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs     • Contribute to a positive team spirit among all IRC staff    • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs
