Protection Manager - Baalbek

Overall objective Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is searching for a competent Protection Manager professional to fill out the position of Protection Manager in Lebanon. Background Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Bekaa valley) and South of Lebanon. The DRC response is designed around 4 major sectors: Food/NFI distribution, Protection, Shelter and Livelihood support. As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, ECHO and DANIDA, implying a rapid expansion of its programme and structure. DRC is in this connection opening the following position, based in DRC Lebanon (Balbeek): For further details, please click the following link: http://www.drc.dk/home/ The position Protection Manager The Protection Manager has the overall responsibility for leading, coordinating and overseeing DRC protection activities in North Bekaa area   Tasks and responsibilities of the position: Oversee implementation and coordination of protection activities and ensure that objectives and results are timely and qualitatively met Represents DRC Protection before relevant donors and implementing partners at field level Recruit, coach and evaluate protection staff Responsible for administrative and financial matters related to the protection activities under the AoR Reports and plans protection activities Provide support and training to local NGO’s that are DRC implementing partners   Requirements: The applicants should have at least 4 years of international experience in protection and proven  experience in management of staff, in addition to being fluent in English (both written and verbal) We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, irrespective of nationality, race, gender or age.
