Programs Associate

A member of the Programs department, responsible for managing specific projects, aligned to specific categories (i.e. Children & Youth/Parents & Educators). Main responsibilities include:   Participate in project development and planning Follow up on projects implementation, monitoring and evaluation Develop projects budgets and work plans Identify programme research needs Report on program and projects progress Liaise or coordinate with partners and experts for projects implementation Develop project documents, proposals, background papers, and briefs Contribute to projects related human and financial resource mobilization   Perspective Responsibility   Broad classification of work tasks Actions/ work tasks that enable the role to achieve the job's overall purpose     Planning & Strategizing   Develop detailed project documents, proposals and work plans within the designated timeframe and resources allocated to projects   Execution & Delivery Provide regular updates on project status and progress on work plans   Identify research material and best practices     Coordinate and Follow up on projects implementation   Assist in the organization and coordination of events (i.e. workshops, trainings, conferences...)   Liaise with the partners, consultants and trainers on regular basis   Address arising challenges and identify alternative plans of action   Financial/Resource Mobilization Assist in resource mobilization/ fundraising for the projects   Generate financial progress reports for the projects   Ensure that projects are completed within the budget and timeframe   Partners & Beneficiaries Identify and develop strong partnerships  with counterparts   Identify best practices/programs in drug prevention for the category assigned to (Youth & Children/Parents & Educators)   Interact continuously with project members and ensure that their objectives and tasks are clear and well incorporated   Learning & Knowledge Management Exchange and facilitate relevant knowledge and information within the foundation and with other entities in the field   Act as a key resource and liaison to other functional areas of the foundation, building productive cross-functional relationships   Develop expertise in core area of drug prevention, project management, youth, children, parents, educators...etc      KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS   This section lists the qualifications, technical skills and capabilities which are essential to execute the role.   Education and Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: social science, business, public administration, political science, economics, international relations, or any other related field. Masters degree is a plus 2 to 5 years of related experience   Qualifications Prior experience in a non-profit  organization (i.e. national, regional, international field) with focus on youth or children or drug prevention, or development at large Prior experience in project management and implementation Experience in drug prevention is favourable   Languages Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Arabic       Technical skills Understanding of non-profit sector Understanding of governmental policies and international/regional practices to social development and drug prevention and awareness is a plus Project development, planning and implementation Planning and budgeting Partnership building Training skills Fundraising Report writing Research Monitoring and Evaluation   Competencies Communication and coordination skills Time management Commitment and responsibility Analytical thinking Integrity and transparency Creativity Negotiation skills Problem solving Ability to work under pressure Good problem solving capacity
