Project Overview
Syria Response programme is based in Lebanon and Jordan, supporting refugees who have fled their home country. To assist, Medair in Lebanon is distributing shelter kits and other essential items, carrying out site improvements with flood and fire mitigation training in informal settlements and mapping refugee movements in the Bakaa valley.

Overall Purpose
Working as an important member of a diverse team, the employee will be responsible
1) Assist the Team Leader in assessments of Informal Tented Settlements (ITS)
2) Ensure accuracy of assessments and provide leadership to those in your team
3) Assist in distributions of shelter kits and Non Food Items (NFI) in Informal Tented Settlements (ITS)
4) Maintain organized records and ensure timely reporting.
Primary Duties and Responsiblities
Assist the team leader in assessments and distributions in ITS
Travel with the assessment & distribution team to ITS
Assist the team leader to map out paths for assessment teams
On conclusion of assessment assist the team leader in organizing the necessary paper work
Work together with the assessment & distribution team leader to plan and prepare assessments & distributions
Ensure clear understanding of location and number of assessments & distributions per day
Communicate with the team leader any problems on assessment or distribution day
Communicate any further assessment needs identified on distribution day
Ensure accuracy of assessments and provide leadership to those in your team
Take lead of a group of 2-3 assessment collectors
Ensure your group leaves the office in the morning organised
Know the criteria for distribution of different shelter kits and NFI packs and ensue accuracy with assessments
Become familiar with the assessment sheet
Ensure clear communication to beneficiaries
Handle any complains within your means, refer complaints to team leaders when necessary
Oversee distributions of shelter kits and NFI in ITS
Ensure the team is organized on distribution days
Work alongside the logistics department to coordinate distributions and complete necessary paper work
Ensure your team are following their roles on distribution day
Professionally handle and address any complaints
Check records on conclusion of distribution
Assist with crowd control and enforce security measures
Keep organized records and ensure timely reporting
Ensure all paper work is accurate and correctly stored
Keep updated records of assessments and distributions
Be organized and prepared to provide team leader and shelter project manager with project reports when required
Skills and Qualifications
Previous data collection and/or leadership roles
Previous community based experience
Ability to use Microsoft programming and Outlook
Passionate about serving the poor
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, desire to learn
Aptitude for community mobilisation and engagement
Team-player with good inter-personal skills
Willing to support others and share workloads
Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels
Creative, open-minded, flexible, slef-learner
Ability to adapt communication strattagies for different situatoins
Stong communication, particularly verbal, skills
Ability to translate between spoken Arabic and English
