Hygiene Promotion & Community Mobilization Senior Field Officer

Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.   Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.   PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.           POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION   Position: Hygiene Promotion & Community Mobilization Senior Field Officer Based in: Saida Starting date: ASAP Duration: 6 Months (extendable if funding secure)   OVERALL MISSION   General objective   Under the direct supervision of the Wash Project Manager, the Hygiene Promotion & Community Mobilization Senior Field Officer is responsible for the qualitative, quantitative and timely implementation of the Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene activities but especially the objectives linked to community mobilization and hygiene promotion activities. He/she directly implement the software activities (hygiene sessions, KAP survey, hygiene kits distribution, community mobilization…) or with the Field Officers, Field Workers and with the help of beneficiaries, daily workers or volunteers.   Responsibilities and tasks   Activities implementation -    Supervise and carry out the implementation of all HP program activities but mainly community mobilization, hygiene awareness sessions, recreational             activities for children, cleaning campaigns, hygiene/baby kits distributions, and KAP survey; -    Develop any pedagogical and methodological tools adapted to the local context; -    Ensure the respect of the planning, design (activity chart) and required methodology of the works; -    Ensure that all measures have been taken and rules followed to ensure security on-site; -    Give clear technical guidelines and instructions to the Field Officers and Field Workers in charge of the activities through daily capacity building.   Monitoring of activities implementation -     Monitor the works on a daily basis and provide technical guidance to all Field Officers and Field Workers; -     Manage and organize the community participation on-site.   Logistic & administration -     Ensure the follow-up and the proper use of materials and tools used during on-site works; -     Manage the supply of materials to the work site in collaboration with logistics department.   Reporting -     Collect all information and written/orally reports on the progress of WASH activities on a daily and weekly basis; -     Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the Hygiene Promotion & Community Team Leader.   The tasks and responsabilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.   QUALIFICATIONS   Mandatory requirements   Language skills: Fluent in Arabic and good command of English (speaking/reading/writing) Education degree: On-site training/Baccalaureate degree in health, social or medical sciences Work experience: 1 year experience in  a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in health, social or education fields Computer skills: Basic knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel Other: -         Intermediate knowledge in hygiene, health, community mobilization, social works -         Good management and pedagogical skills -         Good knowledge of South Governorate and willing to travel a lot locally and valid driving license -         Excellent communication and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially tense situations
