Job Purpose Summary
The EFA will work with the education team to provide quality recreational and educational sessions to local youth through assessing needs, assisting in designing and facilitating activities, and reach out to community members through field visits.
Key Responsibilities
NRC has established Community Centres for displaced Syrians in Lebanon and is now expanding.
This project reaches out to Syrian families to improve their living conditions. This is done by providing the Syrian and local community with educational, recreational, life skills, sports, and social activities.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of children and youth with an emphasis on language development and emergent literacy skills
To explain the project aims and objectives to the beneficiaries through daily contact and the organization of regular meetings
Assist in developing and maintaining relations with refugee and host communities, local authorities and other local actors
Assist in conducting and preparing mapping of relevant services being provided.
Assist in conducting regular assessments (including focus group discussions, interviews, questionnaires, etc.).
Assist with preparation of outreach work and conduct frequently outreach information and counselling sessions with identified communities.
Assist with planning work on weekly and monthly basis
Contribute to preparation of relevant documents (including brochures, information notes, information board updates) for target communities.
Coordinate with other NRC staff at field level.
Assist with monitoring and following-up on the quality of services provided at the Centre
Assist in designing the needed forms, questionnaires and other templates.
Assist in maintaining archiving system up to date (both in hardcopies and electronically).
Report weekly & monthly (or more often, if required) on activities and results to the relevant NRC staff.
Carry out administrative tasks as agreed upon.
Perform any other task as assigned by NRC management
Qualifications and Competences
Academic and Professional Qualifications
University level degree in education, social studies, or any other relevant field
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a busy organization.
Experience in psycho social support supporting children and youth’s emotional, social, mental, and spiritual needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and team working skills
Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential
Good English Language level
Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus
Experience in community sensitization/ mobilization.
