MAJOR TASKS:
Lead the process of developing and updating national level strategic CP planning based on national level CP System analysis and Advocacy, HEA and Development plans/strategies, in alignment with WV Lebanon Strategy, WVI CP strategies and policies.
Iinfluence all parts of the organization (including LT, sectors, Lines of Ministry, sponsorship, People & Culture, etc.) in mainstreaming child protection, implementing CP Standards and pursuing WV’s special priority on most vulnerable children.
Coordinate with ADP Managers in area of CP Systems in Community and alignment with CP programmatic guidelines.
Coordinate with CP team in NO, for using the resources on CP in a best way, and ensuring a quality implementation of the CP program.
Support and guide ADP Managers and Program team in their processes for analyzing CP incidents and how CP incident inform programming.
Coordinate efforts to comply with WVI and national child protection standards and policies, leading the process for developing national CP polities and protocols, which enable organization to become a Child Safe organization.
Lead coordination with P&C to develop a Child protection capacity building plan/strategy, including:
Training programme for all staff in basic child protection principles, behaviour protocols, CP policies, child rights and incident reporting requirements (signed agreement with the child protection policy including the behaviour guidelines must be kept on file).
Specialist training/capacity building for staff who are managing or implementing CP projects. This will include understanding a systems approach to CP, priority issues within national strategy, relevant national legal frameworks, CP in emergencies, mobilizing communities and other project specific skills.
Establish complaints and response mechanisms which hold WV accountable as a safe organization for children in all community-based programs. The minimum requirement is for a mechanism to report inappropriate behavior toward children by staff and other WV people.
Support partners to become child safe organizations.
Support and guide ADP Managers and Program team in their processes for analyzing CP incidents and how CP incident inform programming.
Management of CP incidents (Level 1-3) according to global protocols, with support from Regional Office and Global Centre
Completion of CP Policy Update Reports every six months
Completion of CP Incident Reports within deadlines
Operations audit preparation and follow-up
Ensuring confidentiality of information regarding child protection incidents and sponsored child information
Care for and support staff working on difficult child protection issues
Implement Child Protection Standards, including:
Development of a National Child Protection Policy that is in line with WVI Child Protection Standards, is culturally sensitive and legally sound
Regular self-assessment of compliance and gaps in meeting the CP standards
Criminal background checks for staff and volunteers (or approved alternative procedure)
Training of staff and volunteers in behavior protocols and keeping required signed agreement from on file (as described in the WVI CP Standards)
Coordinate with NO and ADP teams in relationship building and promotion of programs with respective National and Local Government related institutions and other stakeholders.
Network with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and churches to ensure good collaboration and interaction with WV Lebanon.
Liaise between the NO, Global Centre and relevant SOs on child protection programming issues; to coordinate networking and relationships with UN Bodies, national government ministries and key partners related to child protection.
Engage with ADP team and other NO teams by improving and providing the technical expertise for the implementation of programs/projects in alignment with best practices and approaches.
Implement together with ADP sector coordinators to develop monitoring tools which ensure the project’s impact and also to draw lessons learnt.
Overview the CP project implementation, by monitoring jointly with Ops, CP Coordinators and DME officer regularly the project implementation and produce regularly report (filed, monthly, ADP)
Conduct periodical field trips to monitor implementation of technical approaches, discuss progress of work, and discuss issues/concerns.
Participate actively in design process, by empowering in knowledge and skills the ADP sector coordinators, by contributing directly in process of development, writing and revising the PDD and budget

Requires an understanding & experience and willing to take initiatives in the following areas: Child Protection, System Approach – an overview and in depthknowledge of psychosocial, child abuse and neglect issues.
Advocacy on the Rights of the Child including the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (both in national and community level.
