Meal Assistant

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Support the MEAL Officer to ensure quality data collection from the field; Coordinate, with Oxfam’s partners throughout Lebanon, the process of data collection, such as surveys (for example, baseline and endline surveys, post-distribution monitoring surveys), focus group discussions and key informant interviews; Perform the data entry from surveys into Excel, and train Oxfam’s partners on how to enter data into Excel; Perform analysis of quantitative or qualitative data, and draft reports presenting the results of the analysis; Organize, collect, compile and document all program and MEAL-related data and files, ensuring that all records are properly organized and stored; Work with the MEAL Officer on designing and/or updating MEAL tools (logframes, MEAL plans and strategies); Receive, document, and follow-up on suggestions and complaints about Oxfam or its partners. The suggestions and complaints are received from the beneficiaries by telephone or through other means, and are to be logged into a tracking document and a report is to be produced once a week and submitted to the MEAL Officer; Delivering any other responsibility assigned by the MEAL Officer.       SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:   Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in social sciences, or a field relevant to the position, from a recognised university; At least one year experience with emergency or development projects, preferably in monitoring and evaluation roles (M&E), or in project management roles, including experience in working with quantitative and qualitative data. Candidates with experience in research (quantitative and qualitative) will also be considered; Experience in drafting reports for internal teams, management, or donors; Excellent knowledge of and practical experience with MS Office, especially with Excel (Excel 2003, 2007 or 2010). Fluent in English and Arabic (reading, writing and speaking). Solid writing skills in English is an absolute must; Experience coaching and/or training people. Experience in coaching or training on data entry or data collection in particular is an advantage; Experience working in a multicultural team; Excellent coordination skills; Strong commitment to gender equality and social justice, including to Oxfam’s mission; Excellent ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, and excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work under pressure, ability to prioritize and commitment to meet deadlines; Potential and flexibility of attitude towards learning;
