Senior Case Worker

SCOPE OF WORK:   Brief description of the position’s role within the Project(s): The Senior Caseworker will conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect and violence and their families in this process and is responsible of the management of case worker.   Position objectives: To ensure children harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals and follow ups for an assigned case load of children To provide support to families in the process of case management, including foster and alternative care To directly work with other caseworkers and service providers on management of caseload and referrals To manage and support the work of the case worker   Who this position reports to: The Senior caseworker reports to the Child Protection Manager   RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Quality Participate and support the identification of children harmed or at risk of being harmed Provide individual case management for children in the intervention location in accordance with all case management steps and related tools and procedures Ensure the correct documentation and compilation of CM forms in accordance with all case management steps and related tools and procedures Ensure that all Level 1 cases are addressed immediately and shared with the direct line manager  In collaboration with the Supervisor, work closely with the other organization in order to ensure smooth referral Participate actively in weekly case management team meeting Provide ongoing support to families, foster and alternative care systems Communicate regularly with CM assistant for updates on achievements and challenges Support and managed a pool of case worker in his/her daily activities as well as the outreach worker ·Any other relevant CP activities as required     Grant Monitoring & Reporting Provide input for weekly and staff activity reports   Coordination & Representation Collaborate closely with the Psychosocial team and the other sectors team Directly communicate effectively with other caseworkers and service providers as part of conducting individual case management Regularly attend case management meetings at field level   Program Development Contribute to the development of proposal activities in relation to case management   Other Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and  liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs   Professional Standards All IRC staff are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies.   REQUIREMENTS: Technical diploma or degree in social work, human rights, or related degree preferred Minimum of 5 years experience of implementing child protection programs, preferable social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings Experience in team management Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus       Travel and other requirements: Staff will be based in either the North or Mont Lebanon Governorates, with some travel required between the governorates and the main IRC office in Beirut.
