Title of project: Strengthening Protection for refugee Syrian children and their caregivers through activities building up their resilience.
Within the framework of the initiatives promoted in North Bekaa to support the resilience and well‐being of children affected by Syrian crisis through community based, structured activities conducted in a safe, child friendly and stimulating environment, funded by UNICEF, TdH-It is looking for 2 Social Worker to join our team in order to support the project activities carried out. The intervention envisages, among the other, a Child Protection Component to be realized in North Bekaa with the expansion of activities in place since 17 months, through outreach activities
Provision of outreach, awareness and community based activities through 2 outreach teams.
Identification and referral of particularly vulnerable children to specialized services.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Each Social Worker will be in charge of coordinating the implementation of outreach activities in each of the areas covered by the project
Plan and organize assessment of needs and outreach activities in collaboration with Health Officer (HO) and Project Manager Psychosocial Officer (PM/PSSO)
Organize regular awareness and information activities in collaboration with specialized NGOs
Refer beneficiaries in need of special care to specialized NGOs according to predefined referral pathways
Provide necessary technical support and documentation to outreach team (Logistician and Health Workers) in collaboration with HO and PM/PSSO and Child Protection Officer (CPO)
Perform all organizational and administrative work related to outreach team, including regular reporting to HO and PM/PSSO
Organize regular meetings with Animators and Volunteers, Health workers, PM/PSSO, Health Officer (HO) PM/PSSO, to share lessons learned and exchange experiences
Ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies)
Monitor protection risks and needs and Identifying Protection cases
Establishing and maintaining a weekly and monthly work plan which will include monitoring visits to the CFS activities on a weekly basis
Write weekly and monthly reports
Share information on field-level successes and challenges with the project team
Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Protection officer
Experience and requirements
Experience required three (3) years minimum
Education degree: Bachelor or University Degree in social work, sociology, or relevant field
Experience in working with children mandatory
Experience in working with children in emergency preferable
Field work experience Mandatory
Team management experience mandatory
Three years of relevant work experience in the area of child protection preferably including case management and psychosocial activities
Experience in working in NGO preferable
Fluency in Arabic mandatory and conversation and written English an advantage
Knowledge of child protection standars
Proficient in Word and excel
