Project Engineer

The Lebanon Civic Support Initiative (LCSI) project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through a contract with Chemonics International. The project provides grants to a variety of institutions in Lebanon, including international and Lebanese non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community based organizations, or informal groups, to implement project activities. Chemonics seeks a local Lebanese project engineer for the ongoing LCSI project. The project engineer will monitor small rehabilitation projects throughout Lebanon including the rehabilitation of homes, educational facilities, water and sanitation installations, etc. The project engineer will also provide technical support to the project’s procurement team as further detailed below. Tasks will vary based on project needs, and may include but are not limited to the following: Assess rehabilitation projects before implementation including reviewing specifications and design requirements. Conduct regular site visits to review progress of rehabilitation projects to verify the work is performed in conformance with approved plans and specifications, and address any issues or concerns regarding the progress of the work. Provide technical advice and guidance to project procurement team and assist with the procurement of commodities, works, and construction services. The project engineer will assist with issuing requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs), participate on selection panels, assist with tenders including bill of quantities (BOQ), bidding documents, technical specifications, and participate in negotiating terms and conditions of contracts. Provide reports of rehabilitation project progress.
