Community Mobilization Assistant - Bekaa

BackgroundThe International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in Emergency and humanitarian programming existing since 1933 and working in more than 40 countries. In response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the IRC started a Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program and a Livelihood program in 2012 with program strategies implemented in various locations in the Northern and Bekaa Governorates. IRC is now complementing their response with a Child Protection (CP) program. Position OverviewThe Community Mobilization Assistant is working hand in hand with the Community Mobilization Officer. He/She is responsible to support the Officer in the delivery of training to the community, linkage with community leaders, sharing information on IRC programs and existing services in the region. The Community Mobilization Assistant will report to the Community Mobilization Officer. Responsibilities Link with community leaders and keep track of context information regarding the ITS Facilitate and co-facilitate training to the community members regarding CP and IRC programs, as well as other relevant actors Share information to the population in the ITS regarding IRC services  Facilitate and co-facilitate trainings in the communities and to staff and volunteers Any other CP activity as required All IRC staff are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies. Requirements Technical diploma or degree in social science, pedagogy, preferable Experience in working with communities  Experience in working with children with children and organizing activities a plus Working experience in NGO a plus Experience in conducting trainings Minimum of 3 years working experience  Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic mandatory English speaking is a plus Travel and other requirements: Staff will be based in Bekaa, with some travel required to the main IRC office in Beirut.
