Psychosocial Advisor

Observe CFS Activities and facilitate team meetings regularly to identify:  Strengths of programming, gaps and concerns, and capacity building opportunities  Children and adolescents who might require direct focused support Work closely with field CP and PSS teams to provide training and mentoring on: Mercy Corps’ PSS modules (Comfort for Kids and Moving Forward) PSS interventions for children in emergencies (levels 2-3 of the IASC pyramid) Child Protection in Emergencies Psychosocial support and psychoeducation for parents and facilitating parent support groups Self care Work with beneficiary children, caregivers and community leaders on psychoeducation, parenting skills, effective communication, relaxation techniques, etc. Coordinate with other mental health & psychosocial support professionals in Beqaa/Nabitiyeh coordination meetings as directed Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review PSS activities, review cases, offer recommendations and brainstorm durable solutions for challenging cases. Conduct monitoring and reporting of child protection and sexual/gender based violence (SGBV) concerns and incidents; coordinate with local authorities as necessary; Submit monitoring and progress reports in English. Work with MC staff on the development of reporting format. Work closely with MC’s child protection and psychosocial support technical team to review and collaborate on cases Attend workshops and trainings as directed. Mentor psychologists in the quality and documentation of their interventions. Ensure the close coordination and sharing of information between the various activities of the (APSCP) program staff including area manager, psychologists, field officers, outreach workers, psychosocial assistants; Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission; Other duties as assigned;
