Shelter Assistant

Job Purpose Summary The Shelter Assistant supports the shelter team with (primarily) office based tasks. The shelter assistant works with the Senior Shelter Officer to ensure that all data and paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner, and is correctly stored and filed. Key Responsibilities -       Preparing shelter contracts for selected houses. -       Preparing payment requests when requested by technical department -       Assisting with dispersement of payments when requested -       Data entry on shelter database -       Extracting data from database as per requests from Shelter Project Coordinator -       Answering the shelter hotline when requested and entering collected data in the database -       Informing shelter beneficiaries of information on distributions/ payments etc by phone/text. -       Ensuring that all files (both soft and hard) are complete and arranging to send relavant files to Beirut on a monthly basis. -       Compiling reports from different areas. -       Completing other tasks assigned by the supervisor as requested Qualifications and Competences Academic and Professional Qualifications Ordinary National Diploma in relevant field Relevant Experience Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a busy organization. Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and team working skills Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential Excellent computer skills High level of accuracy in work Good English Language level Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus Achievement indicators Delivering working tasks in a structured and professional manner, according to a daily activity plan Meeting deadlines Applying to the NRC standards, policies and guidelines Adapting and coping to change Communication with impact and respect
