Social Worker - Baalbeck

-Scope of responsibility: Promotes improvements with regard to the social conditions faced by the MSF beneficiaries and their families; promotes problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment of the beneficiaries to enhance their well being. The social worker must ensure confidentiality in all the performed activities.   -Function responsibilities include: Network: Maintain and participate in network of partner organisations that can provide answers to social problems but also care to the needs of the beneficiaries.   Social activities During home visits and in the structures in which MSF is working, the social worker is required to conduct the following activities: • Understand and document experiences of refugees accessing health care (mainly secondary health care and safe delivery). • Identification of social, psychosocial, socio-economic needs of the beneficiaries and related family accessing the MSF services with the help of the community worker in the location or individually • Provides information and advises the beneficiaries on existing social services responding to the needs detected and/or expressed by the beneficiaires and/or their families. • Provides a prelimiary social assessment and the necessary care (actively listening, emphaty…etc.) to beneficiaries accessing the MSF services. • Refer most vulnerable beneficiaires to the relevant and appropriate professionals or institutions (inside or outside MSF) • Provide basic counselling-support if & when required. • Ensure individual  case management if & when appropriate, for the most vulanrable cases   Specific activities linked to context Have an updated overview of all service providers (health & non health) in the MSF areas of information Establish a proper referral system with other organizations for services unavailable at the MSF structures and coordinates and follows up the referral with such partners. Actively participates medical meetings if required
