Food Security And Livelihood Officer ( Qobayyat)

Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:   Programme design and implementation Act as a liaison between communities and the Save the Children office; maintain good relationships with beneficiaries and local leaders/authorities Actively participate in the collection and analysis of information used to determine vulnerability, and create transparent targeting criteria Organize beneficiary registration and distributions in collaboration with communities Identify appropriate Cash for Work activities in coordination with communities (NB: In some cases these Cash for Work activities will have a specific focus on youth) Oversee smooth implementation of Cash for Work activities and payments through ATM cards Organize and conduct trainings for all programme beneficiaries Assist with the training of the FSL Officers and assistants to ensure they have solid understanding of key programme documents and tools, including Monitoring and Evaluation questionnaires   Programme monitoring Prepare weekly and monthly work plans and ensure the FSL assistants follow the plans Organize and assist in data collection and analysis for beneficiary and community selection, as well as for monitoring and evaluation Organise collection of market data from local shops and suppliers Work with logistics staff for programme procurements (including materials and equipment for Cash for Work activities) and for the identification and contracting of local suppliers/traders for     QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, Development studies or similar field Minimum 2 years of experience in development programs, preferably working in food security and & livelihoods, and with experience in cash/voucher activities Experience in managing a team Good time management skills Experience in data collection Experience in field work and community mobilization; and in training groups of beneficiaries Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English Computer skills (especially Excel) Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment Available to travel in country   Recommended knowledge and experience: Cash and voucher programming Food Security & Livelihoods in emergencies Familiarity with refugee communities in country of operation
