Description of tasks
Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the MHPSS activities, integrated with the other programmes of MSFOCB.
Implement psychosocial support to people fleeing the conflict in Syria,
Develop, write, and deliver MHPSS interventions based on the expressed needs of the affected populations.
Maintain good contact with other actors and local authorities
Report, analyse, and evaluate the activities realised.
Monitor changes in the context and needs of the affected populations and provide updates to the hierarchy.
Manage the MHPSS clinical activities in the district and supervise the activities of the psychosocial worker in case of absence of the mental health coordinator.
General Responsibilities
Follow the logistical framework for the MHPSS activities.
Support the other activities of MSF in the region.
Develop and strengthen a network of local contacts
Contribute to an ongoing evaluation of the humanitarian situation
MHPSS
Conduct assessments and individual/family and group based interventions, in line with MSF protocols and under the supervision of the mental health coordinator.
Participate in regular clinical supervision of cases.
Write and carry out trainings as needed.
Provide supervision and technical advice to other members of the MSF team and/or other actors.
Maintain and strengthen a referral system.
General obligations
Is informed of the overall objectives of the MSF movement and its activities in the region.
Understands the principles of MSF action.
Respects and adheres to the internal regulations of the organisation.
Carries out other tasks that are not covered in the job description, in order to assist the needs of the other departments (health, communications, logistics, wash, NFI).

Profile - Minimum requirement – Knowledge and experience
• Masters in clinical psychology or psychotherapy
• Professional experience of clinical practice for individuals, groups, and families.
• Experience of clinical work with children
• Fluent in Arabic, and with strong ability to communicate in either English or French.
• Previous experience experience of working with war and/or displacement affected people. Bonne connaissance de la région géographique d'affectation (Bas Uele et Haut Uele)
• Strong IT skills (word, excel, internet, powerpoint),
• Ability to synthesise data, monitor and evaluate interventions, and strong report writing skills.
• Strong commitment to ensuring confidentiality, loyalty, discretion and honesty.
• Experience of working in multi disciplinary teams and good team work
• Able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently, and under conditions of stress.
• Strong belief in the principles of humanitarian action.
• Good listening, empathy and communication skills
• Able to prioritise the demands of the organisation and not to have other engagements that may be incompatible with the work of an neutral and impartial humanitarian organisation, specialising in emergency response.
