Immediate recruitment - Project Manager (Part-timer)Syrian Voice and Accountability Project Duration:  2 years  JOB TITLE: Voice Project Manager ABAAD PURPOSE: ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings. The Syrian Voice and Accountability Project is a two-year programme implemented by ABAAD-resource Centre for Gender Equality in Lebanon and ARDD-Legal Aid in Jordan in partnership with Oxfam. The project aims at empowering approximately 33,000 Syrian men and women to become agents in their communities and lives though enhancing the preparedness of Syrian refugees to constructively engage in humanitarian, development and political processes. JOB PURPOSE: The Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, evaluation and tracking of meeting the project objectives. REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to: ABAAD Executive Director   DIMENSIONS: Delegated authority to supervise the overall implementation of the projects/activities in Lebanon; Required to make sound judgments regularly within agreed processes using a good understanding of the team and the facilities of the team; Communication is largely with project partners, project staff and with target audiences to support operational work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting and contributing to designing, implementing monitoring and evaluating ABAAD ‘Syrian Voice and Accountability Project’ and initiatives in Lebanon and ensure that these are of high quality. Typical responsibilities include: Plan the project Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project; Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project; Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities; Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required; Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion; Implement the project Execute the project according to the project plan with direct coordination with the project team; Develop forms and records to document project activities as per the donor’s requirement; Set-up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured; Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project; Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including project staff in the organization on the progress of the project; Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards; Control the project Write reports on the project for management and for donors; Communicate with donors as outlined in funding agreements; Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures; Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly); Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures; Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date; Work closely with the financial officer to prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for donors as outlined in funding agreements; Evaluate the project Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality; Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase SKILLS AND COMPETENCE: University degree in social science or related discipline, including gender and development; Knowledge of gender and gender equality; Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the nation and/or international NGOs in the region; Experience in project management and coordination; Highly skilled in report writing; Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic including demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team; Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media; Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization. Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization; Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results. Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities.
