Immediate recruitment – (3) Community Mobilizers (Part-timers)Syrian Voice and Accountability Project Duration: 2 years
ABAAD PURPOSE: ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.
The Syrian Voice and Accountability Project is a two-year programme implemented by ABAAD-Resource Centre for Gender Equality in Lebanon and ARDD-Legal Aid in Jordan in partnership with Oxfam. The project aims at empowering approximately 33,000 Syrian men and women to become agents in their communities and lives though enhancing the preparedness of Syrian refugees to constructively engage in humanitarian, development and political processes.
JOB PURPOSE: The Community Mobilizers (CM) will arrange mobilization & awareness sessions in target community on relevant issues pertaining to the project. Moreover CM has close relation with project Officer in establishing local information hubs, development of local friendly information materials, as well as organizing local meetings with community groups;
REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to: Project Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contact the opinion leaders in the communities to establish early rapport and to provide overall orientation of the project.
With the support of Project Management Team, interact and dialogue with individuals representing communities for the organization of community for development.
Provide orientation training to the members of community to raise awareness about the project;
Facilitate small and large community meetings to encourage discussions for the formation of group community facilitators in each respective region;
Conduct awareness training regarding the benefits of organized communities to encourage organization of the communities;
Facilitate the process of obtaining community endorsement of project community plans;
Obtain community data necessary for preparing community profiles;
Facilitate the process of conducting baseline surveys and needs assessments as per the work plan;
Conduct community assessment to establish baseline data of the community on some key indicators to measure impact of the project;
Provide necessary reporting inputs to the project officer/manager for monitoring and evaluation purposes as per the standard monitoring formats on regular basis;
Ensure documentation of all related activities;
Submit work plans & activity reports to project management staff;
Participate in project related meetings/trainings/workshops;
Submit Work Plans & Project Progress Reports;
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
University degree in social science or related discipline;
Proven track record of working in a similar capacity;
Experience in community mobilization and coordination;
Work cooperatively and effectively with others;
Experience in management, social animation, and/or social outreach, adult education, acting;
Advanced skills in computer, internet;
