Driver

Job Purpose Summary Driver ensures safe transport of staff and cargo, organize daily movements and maintain the vehicle. Key Responsibilities Driver: To transport NRC staff and cargo. This includes collecting materials from projects and suppliers. To do day-to-day maintenance of his designated NRC vehicle(s). This includes filling of oil (engine & brakes) and water (battery), adjusting gas pressure as well as ensuring that all required tools in the vehicle are functional and available To do safe-keeping of tools and documents kept in the vehicle. Any damage or loss must be reported immediately. To ensure that the vehicles is clean and being representative (interior as well as exterior) at all times. In case of accident, a written report on any accident is to be submitted to the immediate superior. The driver shall ensure that non-NRC staff travelling in NRC vehicles should sign a disclaimer (waiver) form The driver shall refill the car each time the tank is half-full. Fill in the car Logbook for each movement. Logistics:  To receive and review any Supplies Requests/Requisition Order (SR/RO) generated from the log officer.  To process local purchases following NRC procedures. Perform other related duties requested by the PC/FM. Qualifications and Competences Academic and Professional Qualifications National Driving License (two years old) Relevant Experience Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a busy organization. Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes Good communication skills Organizational and team working skills Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential Basic English Language level Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus Good knowledge of the area Achievement indicators Delivering working tasks in a structured and professional manner Meeting deadlines (Being on time) Applying to the NRC standards, policies and guidelines Adapting and coping to change Communication with impact and respect Good management of NRC vehicles
