New Arrival Coordinator (Beirut)

Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:   ROLE PURPOSE: (this role is dependent on funding) Save the Children is starting a new partnership with WFP and ECHO that will enable us to provide new arrival refugees with food parcels, non-food items and a cash top-up for winter. The purpose of this assignment is to support the setup and maintenance of suitable systems for referring new arrivals and advising the implementation teams.   KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   -          Establishing systems and processes for identifying new arrivals   -          Establishing and maintaining community based information networks   -          Training community focal points and staff on new arrival assessment process   -          Establishing rapid referral mechanism with logistics for distribution of new arrival parcels / NFIs   -          Working alongside logistics to ensure necessary warehousing / distribution capacity   -          Working alongside finance to include pre-loaded ATM cards in new-arrival packages   -          Representing Save the Children at new arrival coordination groups at Beirut and field level and ensuring sharing information   Exception: Due to the emergency nature of this program, your job description can be changed and/or modified depending on organizational priorities and meeting the objectives of the program.   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Required High level of written and spoken English Good contextual knowledge of local issues, refugee situation and social and cultural considerations Good geographical knowledge of Lebanon Good interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively; High level of integrity and sense of confidentiality; Commitment to SCI’s goals and aims.   Desirable Previous experience building community networks Previous experience working with NGO Ability to work long hours and under harsh and difficult conditions and/or situations.
