Job Purpose Summary
The ‘SFA – shelter ticketing’ issues shelter tickets to newly arrived refugees. S/he ensures that each family receives the correct number of shelters according to their family size, and that special cases are dealt with in coordination with the SFO and UNHCR. S/he issues a daily report related to the number of shelters issued that day.
Key Responsibilities
Social activities
Greet newly arrived refugees and explain the system of shelter allocation to them.
Register key information related to new arrivals as instructed.
Issue tent tickets/ tokens for new arrivals (following the UNHCR regulations regarding the number of tents each family receive)
Work closely with UNHCR field office to issue tent tickets/ tokens for special cases (cases verified by social services, medical or protection unit, fire affected cases)
Punch UNHCR ration cards to ensure the same family do not receive shelter assistance twice.
Reporting activities
Daily report; number of tickets issued, number of tents, number of families, number of individuals, number of single cases(male and female)
To report to the PC the social conditions of beneficiaries and any other important matters
To assist the PC in liaison tasks when asked.
To perform other related duties as identified by the supervisor when requested
Support in Administrative work when needed
Qualifications and Competences
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor degree
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a busy organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and stress
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
Strong organizational and team working skills
Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential
Good English Language level
Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus
