Job Purpose Summary
Lead the team of Social Field Assistants to ensure that newly arrived refugee families are sheltered in a transparent, fair, appropriate and timely manner. S/he should ensure that issues related to processes or individual cases are reported to the Emergency Shelter Coordinator in a timely manner. S/he should also organize and manage the data related to tent ticketing and hand over and ensure it is safely stored.
Key Responsibilities
Social activities
To ensure that the newly arrived refugee families are sheltered in a transparent, fair, appropriate and timely manner.
To ensure that the processes for refugee shelter allocation are smooth and suggest ways to improve them to the PC.
To ensure smooth communications with refugees and community leaders on shelter allocation processes
To act as an assistant to the PC on communications with beneficiaries.
To ensure that the system for allocating shelter with increased access to services for vulnerable families is transparent.
To work with community leaders to encourage refugees not to move shelters into other locations causing fire hazards, not to remove shelters from the designated site without permission and to report if a family moves from one tent to another (including swaps).
To organize and lead conducting of surveys, questionnaires or assessments as per required.
Systematically follow up on troublesome cases
Supervision activities
To lead the Social Field Assistant team under close supervision from the Project Coordinator.
To ensure and promote efficient and cost-effective use of NRC’s assets and resources in order to maximize funding to beneficiaries
Plan the daily and weekly activities of SFAs in relation to:
Conducting assessments
Creation of beneficiary lists
Creation and maintenance of relevant databases
Response to and follow up of referred cases
Coordination activities
To act as an assistant to the PC on communications with other actors including UNHCR.
To coordinate with different NRC staff at the field level in planning and performing programs activities (TFO, CCL, and other relevant staff).
Coordinate with local authorities when required
Reporting activities
To organize and manage the file folders and make sure that all necessary documents are in place.
To act as database focal point. He/she is responsible of putting all beneficiaries lists (Hardcopies and Softcopies) are in place and fully filled.
To submit to the FC daily and weekly reports on the activities and action points.
Provide regular reports relating to analysis of assessment findings, as well as progress and situation reports
Carry out any other duties as requested by management.
Supervisees:
The SFO supervise the work of the SFAs
Qualifications and Competences
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor Degree
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 3 year of relevant work experience in a busy organization.

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and team working skills
Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
Ability to work under pressure and stress
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential
Very Good English Language level
Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus
Excellent communicational and report writing skills (oral and written).
Strong computer experience (Word, Excel, Power point).
