Water Quality Officer

Functions 1.      Water sampling and testing: Under the responsibility of the WASH programme manager and technical coordinator, he/she is in charge of conducting water sampling and testing, and of collecting test results from the laboratory, as follows:   Conducts water sampling and testing: He collects water samples and conducts bacteriological water testing He delivers chemical water samples to laboratory and collects the results according to schedule; In case of unsatisfactory results, he collaborates with the WASH PM in designing adequate responses; In collaboration with the field teams, he conducts ad-hoc testing when alerted of a problem; Ensures all water testing materials and equipment stored and used appropriately, he keeps stock cards for such materials and collaborates with the WASH PM in need forecasting.   2.      Reporting / communication Reports all water tests results and provides a paper copy to the WASH PM; Liaises with relevant contractor(s) as regards day-to-day activities; Communicates with the Water Supply Coordinator, with the WASH PM and with relevant staff for any difficulty linked to his/ her tasks, to ACTED intervention or to security situation and proposes possible solutions; Communicates with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and CBOs working in the site is regularly done according to ACTED policies.
