Kids’ Animator Trainer

SCOPE OF WORK: The Kids’ Animators Trainer responsibility is to provide the future animators with the basics to better understand and address Syrian children’s psychosocial challenges arising from the displacement, and to organize and deliver appropriate recreational activities.   Animation is a powerful tool that can stimulate children’s creativity. It also allows children in general, and especially Syrian children refugees, to discuss their concerns, to report on their situation and to educate other children and adults about issues that are important to their lives. It can help children to play away from any external pressures and allows them to tap their creative potential and better express themselves. Who this position reports to: Livelihoods Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: Content of the training Basics of psychological and social development of children Overview of the current life of the Syrian  children, common behaviors and problems for having experiences early atrocities of war How to design and prepare children’s recreational activities, songs and games Principles and techniques to facilitate recreational activities Traditional (Syrian and Lebanese) games and songs: objectives, preparation and practice How to create a context that facilitates kids’ constructive interaction, including among kids of different nationalities How to form playing groups How to prepare children for choosing whether to say “yes” or say “no”, in a way that is positive and in accordance with their own interests Pre- and Post-training test requirements The contractor will be entrusted with developing pre and post test questionnaires through which the level of knowledge and skills of the beneficiaries vis-à-vis the various training module components will be rated. The pre test and post tests are the same questionnaire delivered before the training starts and after the last session The contractor will be expected to collect the data, to analyze the results of the pre and post test questionnaires and to document them in a “Technical Training Report” to be submitted three days after the last training session to IRC. Logistical arrangements expected from the contractors At least one certified trainer to be recruited for the entire training’s period Training books/material for distribution, if any The venue, door-to-door transportation of beneficiaries (from home to venue and return), as well as the needed stationary Catering as needed and appropriate (coffee and lunch break) Certification of graduates, based on attendance and learning (measured against an entry and exit test)   Expected Deliverables Application questionnaire Final list of participants One training curriculum of the duration of 6 to 8 weeks, to be reviewed by IRC, including agenda, module of each session, reference material to be distributed, pre and post test questionnaires Delivery of training course over a maximum period of 8 weeks, the training course must be conclude by 26th October Attendance sheets of each training day and per each group Final training report including the results of pre and post tests of trainees Photos of the training session on a CD to IRC
