Syria Solidarity Program

PURPOSE Adyan Foundation is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Coordinator who can manage a multi-track project in relation with the Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Syrian society. The project includes the development and implementation of an educational program for peace for the refugees’ children in Lebanon and children inside Syria; it also includes a research process and dissemination for Islamic faith based discourse for peace and social responsibility; and finally it includes capacity building activities for interfaith relations and reconciliation. Hence the Program manager is responsible for the best planning and implementing of the project’s activities in collaboration with a number of implementer partners, experts and educators.   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Project Coordinator will: Be Responsible for the planning and organization of the project’s activities (Experts meetings and workshops, training seminars, tools production…) Be the main contact person for the donors, the partners, the project’s staff, the consultants/experts, the beneficiaries, the contractual experts… Contribute to the identification and selection of the project’s experts and beneficiaries Monitor the implementation of the project’s activities and follow up with the implementer partners by ensuring regular reporting and carrying field visits Identify and ensure close collaboration and coordination with regional and local partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results Develop all the documents related to the organization of the program’s activities (concept paper, program, invitation letter, call for participation…) Be Responsible for submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the internal Management and the donors, and prepare the new funding requests Manage the visibility of the program and maintain updated the web pages and online platforms related to his/her work, in collaboration with the Communicate and Media Officer Employ resourcefulness in program design, implementation and monitoring, Trouble shoot project problems and Identify and implement creative solutions Ensure Program activities comply with the policies and regulations of the foundation and the donors Contribute to the design of the project extension and its new phase, and the fundraising activity for it sustainability REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND PROTOCOL OF COMMUNICATION The Senior Project Coordinator reports to the project director and participates to regular meetings with him The Senior Project Coordinator collaborates with the Administration manager and the Financial coordinator for the financial work and budget control and other administrative affairs The Senior Project Coordinator collaborates with the Communication and Media Officer for the program’s communication plans and their implementation The Senior Project Coordinator is part of the Adyan operational team and participates to the CFT (Cross-functional team) meetings lead by the foundation’s CEO.     REQUIREMENTS Education and experience  A university degree (preferably Masters) in Education, Political Science, or a related field in Humanities, Religious Studies or Social Sciences and with interest and knowledge about conflict transformation, peace education and faith based relations and reconciliation  A minimum of 3 years work experience in the management of projects in a similar or related field  Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus. Computer skills (excellent in Office: Word, Excel…, Internet communication and navigation)   Skills  Leadership and strong capacity for planning and organization  Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure  Ability to handle many activities in parallel  Ability to work and communicate in an intercultural and international framework  Senior Professional level in writing, reporting and filing  Ability to manage both administrative and office organizational work and field contacts, explorations and communication  Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to team work and good listening Capacity to deal with situation containing tensions and psycho-social suffering Ability to take initiatives and be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment  Ability to quickly learn and understand an issue and to handle unexpected issues   Qualifications  Personal belief in and support of Adyan’s mission and core values  Commitment to creating positive environmental, social and cultural change  Willingness to learn   JOB SPECIFICATIONS Full time job starting August 2013 Work schedule: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; 5 day/week   APPLICATION PROCEDURE (ONLY BY EMAIL) Send ASAP a full CV/Resume and a short motivation letter via email to: president@adyanvillage.net Only shortlisted applications will be contacted.   ADYAN’s MISSION Adyan works for the clarification of main religious and theological concepts especially in relation with social and political issues.
