Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant
Reports to: Senior Monitoring & Evaluation officer and the Program Manager
Location: Based in Beirut with frequent travelling to multiple locations in Lebanon
About RI: Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development currently seeks Monitoring & Evaluation Officer for RI’s health and nutrition programming in Lebanon in response to the Syria crisis.
Position Summary:
The M&E Assistant is responsible for managing and conducting comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of impact of the project implemented by Relief International in close liaison with Senior M&E and the Program Manager. The incumbent will be the focal point for training and capacity building of project staff in practical M&E tasks in the field. The duty station will be Beirut and the work will involve very frequent travels to implement M&E activities in operational locations.
The M&E Assistant reports to the Senior M&E officer and the Program Manager. The Employee is expected to undertake the following responsibilities, under the direct supervision of the Program Manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
M&E Assistant will work on the development and implementation of monitoring data collection and reporting system under the supervision of Senior M&E the Program Manager
Continuously review and develop data collection tools
Manage data collection by liaising with field staff to ensure that monitoring data is collected, entered and stored
Maintain an efficient data collection system and database of the results and progress of project activities
Train field staff in data collection
Manage monitoring database for aggregation of monitoring data
Quality assessment of monitoring data prior to entry into database
Safe storage of hard and soft copy of data
Make statistical summaries of qualitative and quantitative data
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of results of the common, custom and performance indicators within the project narrative reports
Assess existing reporting tools and procedures (database, collection tools).,research, suggest, and implement improvements
Prepare monthly statistical data
Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Travel to project sites to capture success stories and ensure data quality.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years professional experience in doing impact monitoring for projects
Degree in information systems, data management, statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or related field
Proven ability to deliver accurate work product on time
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Access, and other office applications
Fluent English and excellent communications skills
Experience managing databases
Familiarity with principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and development programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods
