  PARAMEDIC Handicap International DAM Programme North Lebanon Location: Region of Batroun   Handicap International (HI) is an international solidarity organization headquartered in France (Lyon) taking specific actions in the field of disability, health and humanitarian demining in over 60 countries around the world. It is non-governmental, non-denominational, apolitical and non-profit organization. The Mine Action Program of Handicap International in Lebanon priority is improving the lives of people affected by mines and explosive remnants of war, and the creation of favorable conditions for socio-economic development. This by reducing the threat posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war in affected communities in northern Lebanon, according to the needs and priorities identified by the Lebanese Mine Action Center (LMAC).   Brief description of the post Activities: Advanced life support certified or LMAC Accredited, to competently carry out operational clearance tasks, Ensuring that medical drills and procedures are carried out as per HI medical SOP’s, Maintenance and care for the team medical equipment, medical supplies and all other equipment within the project, Under the direction of the medical coordinator, maintain appropriate medical staff records as per HI procedures, Act as stand in replacement for the medical coordinator during sickness or leave, Report to the Medical coordinator on any deficiencies and medical logistical requirements in a timely fashion, Ensure that the medical evacuation plan for a clearance task is understood, maintained and updated as appropriate, in cooperation with the medical coordinator. Check the evacuation road at least once a week to verify no road work’s or road closures, that will impair the planned casevac on that road, Provide medical training for the team or any other staff member, as directed by the Medical Coordinator, Any other duties as required by the Medical Coordinator ensuring high standards of hygiene, clean accommodation areas / working areas, welfare of the staff and sustaining high performance medical preventative measures of all staff for the duration of the project, Responsible for the assistant supervision of medical staff (under the medical coordinator) and necessary equipment for efficient operations. Assist the medical coordinator, to prepare each month a drugs report of treatments given Responsible along with the medical coordinator, for the coordination between HI and external medical facilities. In case of accident prioritise all relevant lifesaving treatments that casualty requires to maintain life. Ensure both Ambulances are fully prepared for use (O2 bottles fully charged / All drugs in date) Assure the filing and archiving of everyday medical  documents Assist the medical Coordinator on the monthly reporting   General -   Work within the framework of HI’s core values -   Act as an ambassador for HI, through professionalism and conduct -   Adhere to all HI policies and procedures both Technical and Administrational -   Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training -   Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required   Candidates’ requirements Qualifications / Experience -       Nurse or similar certificate is required, -       Previous experience in demining activities rescue is a plus, however a full training will be provided. -       Experience with Lebanese Red Cross and similar NGOs are desirable. Health -       Good health and physically fit to the job needs. Languages -       Arabic, essential speaking and writing, English desirable but not essential. Personal qualities -       Adaptation to specific working conditions, -       Capacity to work in team and autonomously, -       Capacity to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team, -       Interest for humanitarian and field work,   Contract’s conditions Training Period -       Training allowance equivalent to 21 $ per trained day. -       The training will last until successful accreditation from the Lebanon Mine Action Center occurred After training -       Successful candidates will go on to full pay on completion of training/accreditation and security clearances, -       Wage of salary 848 $ - 943 $  based on HI salary scale, -       Package of advantages to be communicated, according to HI Specific Terms and Conditions of Engagement (e.g. social security, hazard allowance, etc.).
