Education Program Manager ( Qobayat )

Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:         To ensure the implementation of  the emergency Education response in area of implementation in conjunction with the Education advisor (Beirut) plan and lead Education team on further assessments in the field and to ensure the quality of the Education response in accordance with international standards and country strategy Human Resources: work with and support human resources in the process of recruiting Education staff for field positions To ensure implementation of Education activities in the field and regularly update the Deputy Field Manager, Field Manager, Technical Advisors and operations on the Education situation and as well as the progress with Save the Children’s response; Proposals: in collaboration with the Field Managers/Deputy Field Managers and field Education staff, lead the technical development of Education related concept papers and proposals at field level and ensure that field gap analysis is inputting into development of concepts papers and proposals Reporting: produce Education situation reports; utilised to ensure support to schools are focussing on main needs Reporting: working with the Education Advisor to ensure the on time inputs into donor reports and contribute with case studies and stories from field level Monitoring and evaluation accountability and learning (MEAL): in collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, ensure monitoring and evaluation plans are well understood by field team and collected in a timely manner, including feedback mechanisms to track progress ensuring high quality on-going M&E and accountability to beneficiaries in all Education activities Capacity building / technical support: in collaboration with the Education Advisor provide capacity building and technical support to Education staff, partners and government authorities as required. Ensure on the job training of teachers in supported schools. Coordination: At field level represent Save the Children at Education coordination and technical working group meetings, and other relevant forums. To meet regularly and liaise closely with relevant authorities and organisations working in the field of Education. Integration: strengthen and maintain the links between Education and other sectors, ensuring that joined up working in communities is actively promoted and take an active role in integrating emergency responses including assessments and project design Liaise with finance, logistics, and administration to guarantee the smooth running of programmes.  Assist Field Managers and Deputy Field Managers with the review of BvAs for education activities. In case of worsening in humanitarian situation, lead SC Education response team at the field level.
