Basic Function: purpose and scope
The social worker in charge of the shelter is responsible of the management of the shelter; she also plays the role of coordination between the beneficiaries, the social worker in charge of the file and the lawyers.
Duties performed:
Division of tasks between staff members working at the shelter
Coordination between the shelter team and the management in the headquarter
Weekly meetings with staff
Moral and psychological support to the team mainly during conflicts and emergencies
Coordination with trainers who provide training sessions to residents
Organizing the days off.
Prepare monthly reports and statistics
Prepare minutes of meetings
Answer and follow-up emails requests
Manage utilities (generator, electricity bills, phone bills, …)
Prepare payment requests
Receive and accompany donors visits to the shelter
Database entry and monitoring
Manage visits of volunteers
Plan daily life at the shelter: food, washing clothes, baths… (families are in charge of the daily chores)
Prepare the inventory of the stock
Buy food when needed
Manage the schedule of activities
Monitor and follow-up with the janitor for the maintenance
Fill in social files to new arrivals: moral support, facilitate phone contacts, ensure their daily basic needs
Ensure coordination for the files of residents with lawyer, embassy, UNHCR, GSO…
Coordinate with relative parties to ensure medical follow-up for beneficiaries
Follow-up the enrollment of children at school
Organize recreational activities
Regular meetings with beneficiaries to assess needs
Conduct visits and assessment of needs and report accordingly
Ensure that humanitarian assistance (food, clean water, medical services, education…) is delivered on time to concerned parties
Communicate the shelter’s Code of Conduct to the displaced, and establish Shelter committees and trainings.
Reporting and improving the living conditions of the displaced accommodated in the shelter.
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and reporting skills
Good communication and organizational skills
Commitment to the values, vision and mission of CLMC
Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel…)
Self-motivated and good team spirit
Ability to speak read and write Arabic and English
extra tasks required:
Data analysis and reporting
assistance in project proposals and narrative reports when needed in headquarter
