Shelter Program Assistant

Under the overall supervision Emergency Response Officer and the direct supervision of the Shelter Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the following functions: 1. Assist the Emergency Team in planning and overseeing IOM daily shelter activities and ensuring any changes in operations are communicated to field staff and administration. 2. Collect daily reports from the teams in the fields that will contribute to the weekly reports on field operations. 3. Provide needed information to the Emergency Support Assistant to for regular updates and reports. 4. Attend and prepare Note for Files (NFF) of shelter and other related meetings and participate in discussions of new or revised procedures and practices on different shelter management maters. 5. Prepare meeting agendas, minutes and invitations, and following up on action points. 6. Assist in mapping Collective Centers (CCs) and Formal Tented Settlements (FTSs) around the country, and producing/updating a comprehensive 3 w matrix 7. Undertake duty travels related to project implementation. 8. Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

a) University degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Humanitarian affairs or related field.
b) minimum two year of related experience in emergency response, e.g. shelter projects
c) proficient in the use of computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
d) proficient in using office equipment.
