Community Capacity Building Officer

The Community Capacity Building Officer is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a responsible manner and always to act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct. BACKGROUND NRC is implementing a capacity building project targeting the service providers and community representatives in Palestinian camps in Lebanon since 2011.  The project provides set of Camp Management based trainings as well as support through coaching and out sourcing needed specific technical trainings. Recently, and in response to the Syrian crisis and to comply with UNHCR plan, NRC is designing a Collective Center Management pilot project in which a local partner is going to be trained and supported to manage collective centers in two East and South Lebanon. In order to implement the two similar projects, NRC needs a community capacity building officer to manage the day to day activities of and to supervise the CCBOs. JOB PURPOSE:  To work with the capacity building projects in the designated areas. To facilitate, lead and attend relevant meetings and assessments at field level.  To moderate and facilitate selected workshops and trainings. Participate actively in development of training modules, both in English and Arabic. Participate in organization, facilitation and implementation of training modules/ training programs for service providers. Ensure a follow-up of trainings in the field by supporting implementation of new management techniques and development of activities (using a variety of techniques including coaching). Organize and facilitate workshops/ sensitization sessions. Organize and facilitate meetings and workshops with NGOs, CBOs and Popular Committees. Participate in preparing, conducting and evaluating coaching sessions for community workgroups. Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and planned activities. Provide timely reports on activities. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED At least 3 years of proven experience in designing & facilitating training programs. At least 3 years of proven experience in community sensitization/ mobilization. Strong documentation, research and report writing skills. Strong language skills (Arabic and English verbal + written). Experience in working with local NGOs & CBOs. Experience in coaching methodologies/techniques. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS University degree.
