Stock Ledger Clerk - Akkar

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011, and the Bekaa valley since February 2012. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities and rehabilitation of collective shelters. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Stock Ledger Clerk - Akkar, to support its activities under the project.   Position’s Overall Objectives The Akkar Warehouse Stock Ledger Clerk, in coordination and cooperation with the supporting staff, and supervised by the Akkar Warehouse Supervisor is expected to substancially contribute to: Daily stock control and Ledger accounting of the Akkar Warehouse. Fulfilling objectives and directions from the Akkar Warehouse Supervisor. Position’s Specific Objectives Furthermore, the Akkar Warehouse Stock Ledger Clerk, in coordination and cooperation with supporting staff, is expected to purse the following objectives in his/her daily work: Daily ensures that the Warehouse documentation is prepared, completed and filed correctly. Apply proper stock accounting principles in all his/her work to ensure complete accurracy in all stock movements and recordings. Responsibilities and Tasks To achieve the overall and specific position’s objectives the Akkar Warehouse Stock Ledger Clerk will perform the following tasks and undertake the following responsibilities: Responsible for proper stock controls and ledger accounting of commodities held in the Bekaa Warehouse in accordance with DRC Operations Handbook Chapter 18. Preparation of GRN’s, GIV’s, Stock Adjustment Forms, and DRC Waybills. Informs the Akkar Warehouse Supervisor of any discrepancy in the accounting for the stock held. Responsible for filing of all the Warehouse documentation. Responsible for ensuring that the Stock Cards accurately reflect the actual records of the stock Bin Cards at all times. Preparation of the Warehouse Reports. Other duties as deemed necessary by the Akkar Warehouse Supervisor. Maintaining DRC warehouse documentation in an orderly and systematic filing system. Planning future storage capacity and locations within the Akkar Warehouse in conjunction with the Akkar Warehouse Supervisor. Taking the appropriate adjusting action at the conclusion of all Warehouse stock takes. Maintaining standards on health and safety, hygiene and security in the Warehouse. Understand and ensure the observance of the DRC Code of Conduct. Qualifications & Experience Logistics/Warehouse Certificate (Desirable) 2 years experience in working in a large warehouse Warehouse documentation experience Proven team player Demonstrate a sound knowledge of warehouse documentation procedures and systems Good communication skills NGO experience (desirable) Computer Skills: Intermediate level in MS Word and Excel Fluent in English and Arabic All DRC staff must be committed to the values, vision and mission of DRC Duration: Till 31st of Dec, 2013 renewable (depending on performance and availability of funds) Starting date: ASAP Conditions: DRC offers a competitive local salary and benefits package.
